Abstract: The increased demand of an intermediate storage of electrical energy in battery systems, in particular due to use of renewable energy, has resulted in the need of dual active bridge converters or bidirectional DC to DC power converters. The most cost effective solution for electrical energy storage is battery.

The isolated shifting full-bridge converter suitable for medium and large power applications is a DC-DC converter that can operate in two quadrants. The application of the bidirectional DC/DC converter can greatly reduce the size, weight and cost of the system where energy bidirectional flow is required [ 4 ].
