Encoding for Ceramic Capacitors Ceramic capacitors encoding consists 1-3 digits. If the capacitor code consist only 1 or 2 digits, it is simply their capacitance value in PicoFarads (pF). For example if a ceramic capacitor has a code ‘5’ and other has ‘47’, their respective capacitance values are 5 pF and 47 pF.
All ratings are from 25 to 85 °C: In addition to the EIA code, the temperature coefficient of the capacitance dependence of class 1 ceramic capacitors is commonly expressed in ceramic names like "NP0", "N220" etc. These names include the temperature coefficient (α).

As you can see in the picture for the 22pF the 22K is marked on the capacitor. (K indicate tolerance is 10%) You can also use a multimeter to test the capacitance value of capacitors. Here I am testing the 155J ceramic capacitor. In the multimeter, you can the capacitance value is 1.5uF.
The EIA RS-198 standard codes ceramic class 1 capacitors with a three character code that indicates temperature coefficient. The first letter gives the significant figure of the change in capacitance over temperature (temperature coefficient α) in ppm/K. The second character gives the multiplier of the temperature coefficient.
