Abstract: This paper explores the controller's design for charging batteries for electric vehicle applications using the direct power representation of the system. These controllers' design is made via passivity-based control (PBC) theory by considering the open-loop port-Hamiltonian representation of the converter.
Different charging methods are implemented for batteries using DAB. They are CC charging, CV charging, CCCV charging. From Fig. 3 The CC charging technique takes battery current as a reference and maintains it as constant. Battery current is set below the maximum allowable current.
The simulation model of fast and CCCV charging of the lithium-ion battery from a three AC supply by using a virtual flux based direct power controlled voltage source rectifier is done in MATLAB environment as shown in Figure6.4. Figure. 5.4.
