Configuring energy storage for household PV has good environmental benefits. The household PV energy storage system can achieve appreciable economic benefits. Configurating energy storage for household PV is friendly to the distribution network. Household photovoltaic (PV) is booming in China.
Therefore, it is significant to investigate the integration of various electrical energy storage (EES) technologies with photovoltaic (PV) systems for effective power supply to buildings. Some review papers relating to EES technologies have been published focusing on parametric analyses and application studies.
Hybrid photovoltaic-pumped hydro energy storage system PHES (Pump Hydro Energy Storage) is the most mature and commonly used EES . It is especially applicable to large scale energy systems , occupying up to 99% of the total energy storage capacity .
During the period from 9:00 to 14:00, in addition to meeting all the residential power load needs, PV power generation can also store the excess electric energy in the energy storage equipment. During the period from 15:00 to 16:00, the residential load demand is jointly provided by PV and energy storage.
Pumped storage is proposed for stand-alone photovoltaic systems. The system's size, simulation, and optimization are carried out. A genetic algorithm is used for the system's techno-economic optimization. The performance of the optimal case under zero LPSP is examined. The effectiveness of the proposed model and methodology is examined.
