Furthermore, it is noted that the wet coating process is a fabrication method that has been adopted for mass production of electrodes in lithium-ion battery manufacturing, and thus the process compatibility for forming the electrode-separator assembly is expected to be superior.
The unique structure of the electrode-separator assembly can be utilized in a multilayered configuration to enhance the energy density of batteries (Figure 5a). In contrast to conventional electrodes on dense metal foils, the electrode-separator assembly allows liquid electrolyte to permeate through pores of the electrode and separator.
Then, in this section, the thermal management scheme of automotive batteries will be built based on the principle of battery heat generation and combined with the working principle of new energy vehicle batteries. New energy vehicles rely on batteries as their primary power sources.
This report is the first on heat-assisted transferable battery components, enabling manufacturing batteries on non-planer surfaces such as a curved surface and an edge. The transferrable battery components were composed of two layers: a cathode or an anode and a conductive heal-melt adhesive layer on a silicone-based flexible supporting paper.
Along with the superior conductivity of the electrode on the separator, strong adhesion between the separator and electrode is essential for stable handling and operation of the electrode-separator assembly.
